Project Three, Huerfano Park, Colorado: Part 2

Dylan examines bedding planes.

"Only the 4th specimen of a seastar to be reported from the Upper Cretaceous of the Western Interior (and two of these are poorly preserved); incomplete (3 arms and most of central disc preserved, plus numerous interior plates) but this is good for fossil seastars; the specimen is probably a new species and I'm writing it up for the Journal of Paleontology now. A remarkably rare type of fossil, and kudos to Kendra Keepers for finding it and John G. for recognizing it as important!" Barry Kues, UNM Professor of Paleontology.

Wow! A rare find by Kendra... tune in for more on this exciting discovery!
