Teaching:

Courses that I teach at UNM include:

ENVS101: The Blue Planet -- This is the general eduation environmental sciences class ... one of my personal favorites.

ENVS330: Earth Systems -- A course that focuses on methods we use in environmental sciences and provides an overview of the Environmental Sciences major.

EPS443/543: Aquifers and Reservoirs -- This course covers methods for subsurface geology (petroleum and hydrogeology focused).

EPS462/562: Hydrogeology -- A general introduction to groundwater hydrology.

EPS476/567: Physical Hydrology -- A general introduction to hydrology (both surface and groundwater).

EPS545/445: Selected Topics in Sedimentology/Stratigraphy -- This course has been used to teach Basin Analysis. I hope to teach fluvial stratigraphy through this course number.

EPS566/466: Selected Topics in Hydrogeology -- This course may be used to teach groundwater modeling or other advanced hydrogeology topics.

Courses taught in the past at Michigan State:

ISP203:  Geology of the Human Environment

GLG431: Sedimentology and Stratigraphy

GLG481:  Reservoirs and Aquifers

GLG806:  Seminar in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy -- topics to be announced each semester.
Fall, 2000:  QuaternaryStratigraphic Development of the San Joaquin Valley, California
               Spring, 2001:  Glacial Sedimentary Systems

GLG882:  Basin Analysis

Students!  If there are things in stratigraphy/sedimentology or hydrostratigraphic analysis that you are interested in learning, let me know.  I am always interested in developing seminars that are of interest to us all.  Contact me at weissman@unm.edu if you have ideas!
