I use metamorphic rocks to study interactions between chemical and physical processes at depth in the earth. Most of my work involves integration of field data with mineral compositional data, microstructural data, fluid inclusion compositions, whole-rock geochemistry, and/or isotopic data. No one person can do everything, and most of my work is highly collaborative in nature.
My primary field areas since 1982 have been in the Alps, but I have also worked in the Colorado Front Range, the core complexes of southern California, western Idaho, New Mexico, and the island of Elba.
NOTE: I AM NO LONGER ACCEPTING GRADUATE STUDENTS.
