Research and Academic Interests:
My research focuses on understanding the origin of some of the first solid material in the solar system, material that is found in meteorites known as chondrites. Studies of the chemistry, mineralogy and isotopic compositions of various components of chondrites help to shed light on the processes that formed them. Chondrites also retain a record of geological processes that occurred on asteroids very early in the history of the solar system, including aqueous alteration and thermal metamorphism.
