<P>In collaboration with Scripps Institution of Oceanography (Dave Hilton) and local scientists, my students and I have extensively studied
the volatiles discharging from volcanic and hydrothermal areas in the Central American arc and back-arc. </P>

<P>We have found systematic variations in volatile output from the arc that relate to the volatile inputs via subduction.</P>
