E&PS 101 Introduction to Geology

A fascinating tour of our active planet.  The birth and evolution of our home planet, origins of volcanoes, earthquakes, mountain ranges, oceans, natural resources.        

Six sections:  MWF 9, 11, 2 T, R  9:30, 12:30, T 6

Optional hands-on lab (E&PS 105).

EnvSc 101 The Blue Planet

Explore Earth's natural systems and environmental issues critical to future of our planet.  Understand the science behind global warming, energy issues, water supplies in New Mexico, and nuclear waste concerns (e.g. WIPP) in this discussion of human interactions with our planet.

Two sections:   MWF 10, 1. 

Optional hands-on lab (EnvSci 105).

"Build your own course" We are also offering six 8 weeks courses, one hour each, three during the first 8 weeks (sect. 310,311 &312) and three during the second 8 weeks; a great way to sample diverse topics in one semester. Take as many as you would like.  Fulfill A&S group and E&PS minor requirements.
