My present planetary research concentrates in three main areas; 1) Planetary materials and processes, 2) Crystal-chemistry of Mars-Earth Sulfates; Recorders of near surface processes, and 3) Comparative planetary mineralogy. My major tools are microbeam instruments for high spatial resolution: SIMS, EMP, SEM, and TEM. I am also involved in NASA activities including missions to Mars and joint-chair of the LPI and NASA/ Cosmochemistry "Oxygen in the Solar System" initiative.
